Check It Out! Yakima's-Tony Hawk designed Skateboard Park

One of the few skate parks designed by Tony Hawk, an 8,800-square-foot layout, divided into a 4,000-square-foot bowl and a 12-foot-wide streetscape with steps, ramps and rails. Check it out!

Along with the skate park, Kiwanis Park supporters recently completed a new basketball court and playground equipment, complete with a fancy "Spacenet" jungle gym and slides will be completed soon. Kiwanis Skate Park is located at the corner of Fair Avenue and Maple Street

The American Hop Museum

The American Hop Museum is located in the Yakima Valley city of Toppenish, Washington. This museum dedicated to the history of the American Hop industry from its early days in the New England colonies to the Yakima Valley .

The Museum follows the history of hop growing from the first rootstock planted in 1868 which produced the first 80 bales of hops shipped, to supplying over 75% of the hops sold in the USA. You will see the antique harvesting equipment used and learn about hop growing in the Yakima Valley.Hop growing in the Yakima Valley started on family farms with this unique antique equipment, the present hop harvest is fully mechanized.

Visit the American Hop Museum and Snipes Mountain Brewery in the Yakima Valley. The museum is open May 1st. through September 30th. Wednesday thru Saturday 10am.-4pm. Sunday 11am.-4pm., with special arrangements for tour groups.

A taste of local craft beer made from Yakima Valley hops can be found at Snipes Mountain Brewery & Resturant in the Yakima Valley city of Sunnyside, Washington. Snipes Mountain specializes in small batch brewing featuring eight different beers perfected by master brewer Chris Miller.

The resturant menu features a great selection of wood fired chicken wings, fish and chips battered in Snipes’ ale; Greek pizza with chicken, kalamata olives artichokes, roma tomatoes and a feta cheese blend; baby back ribs, or smoked salmon fettuccine tossed with mushrooms and garlic and so much more.

With such a high percentage of the hops in the USA being grown in the Yakima Valley you may find that your favorite micro brew started here in the Yakima Valley in the form of the aromatic hop cone.
